Johannesburg – Ubank Limited joins the worker’s federation movement sector especially National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) and the nation at the shock of the sudden passing of General Secretary, Comrade David Sipunzi following his untimely death on 25 December 2020.

“We had the pleasure of working with Mr. Sipunzi since his appointment as NUM’s General Secretary in 2015 and from the onset we knew that our customers – the mineworkers had a devoted advocate in him. He was steadfast, passionate and took his vow to fight for the rights of mineworkers and all workers to heart. He spoke for the workers and did all it took to make their grievances heard in order to find the best resolutions. Mr. Sipunzi lived his job, one could even say it was his calling for him” said Ubank Limited Chief Executive officer, Mr. Luthando Vutula.

On behalf of Ubank and the Board, we wish to convey our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the family, colleagues and friends of the late Mr. Sipunzi during this difficult time, concludes Vutula.
